Notes on usage

• To see all the NewsReel stories in a particular period, leave an * (asterisk) in the keyword field.
• Word-search is case-insensitive ie 'petit' gives same results as 'Petit'
• Word-search matches on part-words ie 'petit' finds stories containing 'appetite'
• Multiple keywords finds stories containing all words entered
• Dates should be entered in d/m/yy format.
• by default, date fields are set up to search the last month's stories.
• We recommend that you restrict your searches to simple things like names of players and clubs
• You can pick a topic to search, or look in all the topics (default), by using the pull-down menu.
• Picking a specific topic is recommended mainly when doing a wildcard (asterisk) search, as it enables you for example to look for all the transfer news in the specified period.
• When searching for a keyword(s), you might as well search all topics (sometimes things get put in strange places!).
• It's not all that clever. If you enter something impossible or stupid in the date field(s), the results may be unpredictable.
