UEFA's second deadline for registering players for the
Champions League has passed. All clubs will have to stick with
the UEFA-registered squad lists for the rest of season.
This UEFA page lists the significant squad changes,
and it's interesting to note that none of the 3 remaining English clubs have made any changes.
We weren't expecting to see new signing Guillaume Warmuz in
the Arsenal squad list, because he has already played in the competition this season, for former club Lens.
But it is interesting that Arsenal do not appear to have taken the trouble to remove Matthew Upson from the list, or to add
a replacement from the reserves. Particularly as 2 of the remaining players, Volz and Tavlaridis, are currently out on loan.
We can't help wondering why. Obviously we're not planning on
having lots of injuries and suspensions. But could it have done any harm to add in Bentley or Juan or someone?
Or to replace Rami Shaaban, out for the rest of the season, with
Craig Holloway.

A few people have pointed out that some of these youngsters
may well be in the 'B' squad and hence available for selection.
Good point! Still seems strange leaving Upson in there though!
And are there really no players in the reserves who are not
available through the 'B' list?
